Introduction: Korea Grand Traverse Certification System

Since April 22, 2012, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Environment have implemented this official certification system to commemorate the opening of the national cycling era.

• What is it? Much like a travel passport, cyclists collect official stamps at key checkpoints along the routes. Upon completion, the government officially recognizes your achievement.

Certification Categories

Key Routes for Sectional Certification

• Hangang (Han River): Ara Lock to Chungju Dam

• Nakdonggang: Andong Dam to Nakdong Estuary (Busan)

• Jeju Fantasy Path: Full coastal circuit of Jeju Island

• East Coast (Gangwon/Gyeongbuk): Goseong (DMZ border) to Yeongdeok

• Others: Namhangang, Bukhangang, Saejae, Geumgang, Yeongsangang, Seomjingang, and Ocheon-gil.

Process & Souvenirs

• Certification Items: Official Passport, Stickers (for Passport/Helmet), Certificates, and Medals.

• How to Receive: 1. Collect stamps in your Cycling Passport at the Red Booths (Unmanned centers).

  2. Visit a manned certification center or use the “manned drop-box” in the red booths for verification.

  3. Certificates and Medals will be issued/shipped (takes 1–2 weeks).
